Chevrolet Impala — American full-sized car, that was produced by Chevrolet from 1958 to 1985, from 1994 to 1996 and from 2000 to the present. In the model range the car has taken a different position depending on the year. Until 1965 it had been the most expensive passenger Chevrolet.
From 1965 to 1985 "Impala" was holding at a price intermediate between the Deluxe modification and cheap Chevrolet Caprice Chevrolet Bel Air and Biscayne. In addition there was produced sports modification Impala SS ("Super Sport"). From 1964 to 1967 it was being positioned as a separate model, and in other years, when it was presented — as package.
From 1990 to 1996 Impala SS was being produced, the former sports modification of the Chevrolet Caprice. Since 2000, the Impala name has been resurrected for the car replacing Chevrolet Lumina, although large by modern standards, but significantly smaller compared to previous generations, in addition, with front wheel drive and Chevrolet Impala headlights.
Under the Impala name there were producing several models that were not associated with each other technologically.
